POSITION OVERVIEW
The individual in this role serves as the face of Hood River Distillers, delivering exceptional customer service to both retail and industry visitors in the tasting room and at external events. Their primary responsibility is to educate consumers about the history, craftsmanship, and quality of Hood River Distillers’ brand and products, while also supporting retail sales as a secondary function.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide product tastings to public and industry guests
- Be familiar with each product, manufacturing process, and product category
- Must always follow OLCC rules and regulations
- Perform retail sales, including processing of credit card and cash transactions
- Staff outside promotional events as needed
- Clean glassware and stock other supplies as needed
- Maintain a clean environment, including the restroom
- Other duties as may be assigned

- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Available to work weekends and holidays
- Available to cover shifts at short notice
- Ability to communicate well with management, supervisors, and co-workers

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma required. Experience in a bar or restaurant and/or training in the alcohol industry desired.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with management, customers and employees.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit;

LOCATION/POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a part-time, seasonal position based in Hood River, Oregon, running from spring through fall. The role is hourly and requires availability on weekends and some holidays. The standard schedule currently includes Sundays and Mondays, with the possibility of an additional day. For the right candidate, there may be some flexibility in scheduling.
Sunday and Monday shift with opportunity to work third shift as needed. Typical hours are 11:45-6:30. $20/hr. tips
