We are looking for a passionate, dedicated individual to join our team as the Youth Track and Field Coordinator, responsible for overseeing and coordinating our youth track and field program.
Position Overview:
The Youth Track and Field Coordinator will be responsible for planning, organizing, and managing all aspects of the youth track and field program. This includes developing practice schedules, organizing events, recruiting and managing volunteers and coaches, ensuring a positive experience for participants, and fostering a safe and inclusive environment for youth athletes.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate and manage all elements of the youth track and field program, including practice schedules, events, and meets.
Recruit, train, and supervise volunteer coaches and assistants to ensure program success.
Develop and implement a safe, inclusive, and fun program that promotes the physical and emotional well-being of all participants.
Communicate effectively with participants, parents, coaches, and other HRVPRD staff regarding program information and updates.
Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, including first aid and emergency procedures.
Track participant registration and attendance, and provide customer service as needed.
Collaborate with the Parks and Recreation team to ensure program goals are met and resources are properly allocated.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in youth sports programming, coaching, or event coordination preferred.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work well with children, parents, and staff.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
A passion for sports, especially track and field, and promoting youth fitness.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds.
Ability to lead and participate in physical activities with youth athletes.
