CONTROLS MECHANIC-BT Nights

Job Summary:

Responsible for: Electrical troubleshooting, PLC and Instrumentation Troubleshooting and repair, preventative maintenance and calibrations, general electrical repair, installation of specialty equipment, various power supply systems, all other technical knowledge of the processing packaging, and warehouse functions. ASRS, troubleshooting as well as utilities support in a timely and cost-efficient manner. Perform various assigned duties as needed by Plant Leadership.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Understands the functionality of equipment and electronic components.
• Must possess the ability to troubleshoot and correct issues by utilizing knowledge, PLC and Controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, mechanical maintenance, motors, control circuits, power supplies, basic AC&DC theory, and power distribution.
• Knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC's, Factory Talk, IO-Link,Metrics Suites, Siemens, and networking devices for upgrading and troubleshooting purposes.
• Reads and understands electrical schematics and is able to use and understand specialized electrical testing equipment.
• Understands boiler operations /controls and can troubleshoot problems related to steam generation.
• Understands for operation, maintenance and general repairs to the anhydrous ammonia systems.
• Ability to use hand tools including, lathes, drill presses, saws, welding equipment, calibration equipment, etc. to troubleshoot mechanical issues.
• Performs necessary repairs or preventative maintenance on all industrial equipment.
• Understands operational urgency and supports production needs.
• Communicates to Maintenance and/or Plant Manager any condition that prevents the manufacture of products to established standards.
• Ensures safe operational practices for self and other operators.
• Adheres to all plant GMP and sanitation policies.
• Promotes SQF by maintaining food safety and food quality through completing job tasks and maintaining the work area in a sanitary manner.
• Performs any and all duties as directed by Supervision.

Education and Experience:

• GED or High School Diploma with at least 3-5 years experience in manufacturing environment with PLC's and instrumentation devices.
• College level software programming and or pre-engineering strongly preferred.
• Prior demonstrated experience with PLC's, industrial, mechnical, and electrical maintenance.
• Intermediate computer skills (i.e. Word, Excel, etc.)
• Excellent troubleshooting experience with PLC's, Analog controls, sensors, instrumentation devices, Frequency Drives, and controls. Allen Bradley, Siemens, Modicon, AB, etc.
• Experience within PLC’s controls for ammonia systems, processing, and utilities preferred.
• Experience working with outside vendors and contractors.

Set 2 week schedule with 3 day weekend off every other week.

Alternating 3- or 4-day work weeks.
12 Hour Shift Beginning at 5:30pm EST.

Starting Salary: $36.09

6 months: $36.95

12 months: $37.79
