Position Summary:
The General Worker position has a variety of different assignments which are assigned based on the training level of the employee and business needs in support of achieving the goals of the Concord, NH Warehouse. This job description is meant to serve as an outline of the duties and responsibilities that a General Worker may be required to perform during the course of their work-day.
Ensure adequate supply of cases for both production and shipping departments at all times by unloading cases from trailers; ensuring the case washing process is uninterrupted; responsible for maintaining dump room and dump tanker.
Hourly pay: $21.97
Essential Functions:
- Unload all cases from trailers as directed.
- Track empty cases using SQF logs.
- Pull empty and full milk cases stacked 6 high (up to 240 lbs.) with repetition.
- Continuously check, remove, and red tag damaged equipment to include cases, bossie carts, load bars, straps, etc.…and move damaged equipment to a designated location.
- Wash trailers/trucks/bossie carts after unloading empty cases.
- Ensure case feed line and case washers remain operational; Clear jams as needed to avoid interruption of production.
- Sanitation of case washer per SQF guidelines.
- Responsible for disposing of returned/rejected product into appropriate container or tank in a timely manner.
- Move empty cases into designated trailer(s) and remove any trash from cases and trailers.
- Maintain a clean & safe work environment and follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Performs all other related duties as assigned.
Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Prior warehouse experience a plus.
- Must be available for required overtime to support business needs and/or critical situations.
- Have attention to detail to log data onto tracking sheets.
- Ability to move at a quick pace.
- Reading & writing proficiency (English language) and ability to identify colors.
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to work well as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to multitask.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to move at a quick pace.
- Standing: Long periods (up to 8 hours).
- Sitting: Rarely, unless assigned to operate fork-lift or similar equipment.
- Walking: Frequently.
- Bending, Twisting & Stretching: Frequently.
- Lifting/Carrying: Moderate (30 lbs): Frequently.
- Lifting Carrying: Heavy (40-60 lbs): Occasionally.
- Environment: Refrigerated and non-refrigerator areas with temperature variations from 34 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit.
SQF Requirements/Responsibilities:
- Maintaining food safety and food quality through completing job tasks and maintaining the work area in a sanitary manner.
- Follow “Good Manufacturing Practices” guidelines.
- Through the monitoring of incoming goods.
- Maintaining the food legislation requirements.
This is the reasonably anticipated pay or pay range for this position currently.
