We’re looking for a Laboratory Technician who is passionate about animal, human, and planetary health. Key Responsibilities
- Perform basic molecular biology techniques, such as DNA purification, qPCR, western blotting, bacterial culture and gel electrophoresis
- Prepare buffers, plates, reagents and stock solutions according to experimental protocols
- Ensure all lab areas remain clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards
- Sterilize lab materials using autoclaves, including glassware, equipment, and consumables
- Maintain scientific equipment
- Lab waste disposal, including hazardous and biological waste
- Manage laboratory inventory
- Assist other researchers preparing and executing experiments
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (BS) in microbiology, molecular biology, biology, chemistry, biochemistry, animal science, or a related field is preferred
- Experience in a laboratory setting is preferred
- Familiarity with basic lab equipment, aseptic techniques, and safety protocols is a plus
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time-management skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically active tasks (e.g., carrying equipment, standing for extended periods)
- A team player who thrives on facilitating smooth operations and solving problems before they escalate
- Commitment to collaboration and fostering a team-oriented culture
