What are the responsibilities and job description for the Line Cook position at Hook & Press Donuts?
POSITION: Breakfast Line Cook/Prep Cook
***Minimum of 6 months restaurant kitchen experience required to apply***
We are looking for a candidate to join our team of Cooks at our location on East Figueroa Street. Line Cooks are responsible for preparing our breakfast menu in an efficient, consistent and sanitary manner during breakfast service. Some daily food prep is also expected of this position. Candidates will have the opportunity to grow into higher level positions as we continue to expand.
The Line Cooks go through extensive training and will be cross-trained on each station’s respective duties. Our training is structured so that Line Cooks build a strong product-knowledge foundation and gain exceptional skills to be able to handle many different situations that may arise within our kitchen.
Please only apply if you are able to work five days per week. We are looking for someone who can work all of the following shifts: Monday 8:00am-3:30pm (food prep shift) Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday 7:00/7:30am-1:30/2:00pm

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and assemble breakfast sandwiches, tartines, side dishes and specials per company standards
- Bake the appropriate quantities of biscuits and bacon for each day’s breakfast service
- Communicate with other cooks to help ensure quantities of prep items needed on a daily/weekly basis are being produced
- Consolidate and label containers of sauces, toppings, garnishes, meat, egg and dairy products at the end of the shift
- Have a thorough knowledge of all of the disciplines of the kitchen to be able to fill in for any position, including preparing all menu items and washing dishes if needed
- Visually identify quality or bad product before and after it is mixed; remove any unacceptable product
- Ensure cleanliness of work areas including but not limited to: tables, shelves, equipment, walls and floors
- Ensure maintenance of equipment and tools used daily and report any malfunctions to the Owner immediately

- Food Handler’s Certification (within 30 days of hire)
