Description
Hooks, Meng & Clement (HMC) is seeking a Billing Technician who loves digging into detailed work that can help our billing attorneys revise, process, and issue accurate billing in a timely manner every month. The Billing Technician will work directly with the Director of Finance and the firm's partners on all financial, bookkeeping, billing, and accounting operations. Job seekers should have at least two (2) years of billing experience, be meticulous and organized, and thrive in a fast-paced work environment.

Responsibilities
Work with all billing functions of the firm, including billing coordination with the firm's partners, lawyers, and staff
Process incoming payments to appropriate accounts and keep precise financial records
Revise invoices in accordance with attorney requests and prepare final bills for mailing
Run accounts receivable reports to keep track of past due accounts and follow up on payments
Work with the client's accounting department to resolve any billing inquiries
Circulate monthly invoices to billing attorneys for initial review
Research payment deficiencies and reconciles outstanding invoices
Coordinates correction activities and follows through to resolution
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required
A bachelor's degree in accounting is preferred
At least two (2) years of accounting, bookkeeping, or insurance related billing experience required. Experience in a law firm and or Insurance / TPA environment preferred.
Efficient in MS Office, Excel, and billing software programs is essential
Able to produce a high-quality work product while handling multiple projects and deadlines
Precise and detailed in keeping with accounting standards
Strong written and verbal communication skills and organizational skills
