About the Role:
Hoop Brothers is seeking a skilled videographer to capture docu-style basketball content an upcoming event and future events in Birmingham, AL. This role involves creating high-quality footage that tells the story of the players through interviews, candid moments, and on-court action.
We are looking for someone with a keen eye for detail, strong storytelling abilities, and experience filming sports or live-action environments. We are also interested in building a long-term relationship with a reliable videographer for future basketball events in the Birmingham area.
Responsibilities:
- Capture and deliver high-quality docu-style footage according to the provided shot list.
- Conduct 30-40 second player interviews before gameplay in a professional and engaging manner.
- Film warm-ups, drills, candid moments, and live gameplay (following designated shooting positions per quarter).
- Take high-quality photos and videos using your phone for live social media updates.
- Ensure all required shots are covered, including speeches and player highlights.
- Deliver raw footage in 4K or 1080p at 60 fps via digital transfer promptly after the event.
Shot List Highlights:
- Pre-Game:
- Player interviews (3-4 key questions).
- 15 clips of warm-ups and drills (close and medium shots).
- Candid shots and venue coverage.
- Capture any speeches given by the event director.
- During Game:
- Film assigned players during all game action without missing key moments.
- Rotate shooting positions each quarter (baseline, sideline, etc.).
- Record candid player moments off the court.
- Use "dead clips" for marking key highlights.
- Social Media Content:
- 5 clips of warm-ups.
- 5-10 venue highlights (photos and/or videos).
- Live-action highlight clips.
Equipment Requirements:
- DSLR/Mirrorless camera or equivalent.
- 4K or 1080p at 60 fps recording capability.
- 24-70mm zoom lens (or similar range).
- External microphone for interviews.
- Handheld stabilization.
- SD card (64GB or more).
