Position Title: Site Coordinator, After School Program
Reports To: Program Director

Mission: Hoops and Homework is a safe and nurturing neighborhood-based after-school program which expands opportunities for youth in Framingham.

Vision: All children in Framingham, regardless of income or neighborhood, will have the support and guidance they need to succeed in school and in life.

Job Description:

  • Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate overall programs, services, and activities to ensure they meet state objectives and the needs and interests of students.
  • Ensure and enforce compliance with program and district policies/procedures for all students and staff.
  • Ensure and enforce compliance with Early Education Childcare policies/procedures
  • Manage and provide staff development opportunities for staff and volunteers.
  • Ensure a productive work environment at all sites
  • Monitor student progress and needs as appropriate.
  • Provide data associated with grant’s required evaluation components.
  • Communicate to Program Director on timely basis about program progress through email, phone calls or required reporting.
  • Receive appropriate training as required by the EEC and program.
  • Family Engagement: Organize and facilitate parent/family engagement activities.
  • Provide education in the areas of Reading, Math, Science, Nutrition, Technology and Homework Assistance.
  • Establish and maintain communication with school district staff and after school site staff, community agencies/partners and families regarding all aspects of student involvement in the program.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Program Director

Qualifications:

  • Education (one of two qualifications below needs to apply):
  • BA or BS degree in Education, Social Work, Recreation Administration, Human Development, or related field preferred.
  • Associates degree, or college credits in youth, child or family studies related field.
  • (Actively work towards degree)

Experience:

  • At least 2 years’ experience to include duties such as: managing staff; working with children and families.
  • Working with diverse populations.
  • Working with community agencies and businesses.
  • Experience providing and organizing academic enrichment activities for school age children.

Skills:
Skilled in coordinating programs and must demonstrate skills related to detail and organization. Strong skills in record keeping and all forms of communication. Must be able to effectively prioritize and manage multiple assignments.

Abilities:
Must have capacity to work independently with limited supervision while implementing all program components. While independent decision making is expected, the Program Director must be informed of actions taken. Must be able to work as part of a team and collaborate with community
partners. Must be able to work with a diverse population and effectively present information about the program to varied audiences.

Hours: 25-30 hours/week, 3:00-7:00pm. – majority of those hours are spent conducting the afterschool program between the hours of 3:30pm-6:30pm.
