Basketball Coach

Job Description:

We are seeking high energy, patient basketball trainers to conduct basketball training sessions. Selected candidates must be willing and able to work with beginner level players and teach them the fundamentals of the game. Trainers must be able to breakdown skills into their most basic components. Trainers must accept responsibility when a player is not able to learn and find creative ways to help them if the first ten ways fail.

Requirements:

• Show up to work on time (at least 15 minutes early for scheduled training sessions)
• No cursing
• Maintain the facility - take pride in keeping it clean
• Previous basketball playing or coaching experience IS required
• High energy
• Willingness to learn and follow instructions
• Self Awareness
• Attention to detail
• Must be in good physical condition.
• Excellent communication skills
• Basic understanding of basketball rules
• Must be willing and able to complete the Hoops College Training Program

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement basketball training programs for players of varying skill levels.
• Retain the current clients.
• Teach fundamental basketball skills, including dribbling, passing, pivoting, defense, layups, footwork with dribbling, etc.
• Foster a positive learning environment - help them learn that failing is part of growth and getting better.
• Monitor player progress and provide constructive feedback to enhance performance.
• Maintain the facility - check bathrooms, clean gym floors/lobby area - make sure to lock up the facility after each session at night.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5 – 15 per week
