We are seeking a dedicated and student-centered School Counselor (Guidance Counselor) to join our team. This role focuses on academic planning, career exploration, and post-secondary readiness, ensuring that all students receive the guidance they need to achieve academic success and pursue meaningful career paths. The ideal candidate will collaborate with students, families, teachers, and administrators to create a supportive environment that promotes student achievement and future planning.
Academic Planning & Student Support:
Assist students with course selection, scheduling, and graduation requirements to ensure academic success.
Monitor student progress, provide interventions when necessary, and help students develop effective study habits and time management skills.
Support students in overcoming academic challenges by collaborating with teachers, special education staff, and families.
Analyze student data to identify trends and develop academic success plans for students at risk of falling behind.
College & Career Readiness:
Guide students in exploring career options through assessments, job shadowing, internships, and career fairs.
Provide college counseling, including assistance with applications, essays, scholarships, and financial aid.
Educate students on alternative post-secondary pathways, including vocational training, military service, and workforce entry.
Conduct workshops on resume writing, interviewing skills, and job search strategies.
Student Development & Collaboration:
Conduct individual and group counseling focused on academic success, decision-making, and future planning.
Develop and deliver presentations on academic goal-setting, career exploration, and college admissions.
Partner with teachers, parents, and administrators to support student success.
Stay informed about trends in education, workforce demands, and college admissions to provide up-to-date guidance.
School & Community Engagement:
Serve as a liaison between students, families, and community organizations that support career and academic growth.
Coordinate events such as career days, college fairs, and parent information nights.
Maintain accurate records of student interactions and progress.
