Located in Champaign, Illinois, our not-for-profit organization provides compassionate care to those with severe and profound intellectual disabilities through our residential nursing care program, adult day training program and our approved non-public school.
Job Summary:
Responsible for assisting with the development and implementation of engaging activity programs that align with residents' needs, interests, and abilities. Collaborates with management and interdisciplinary teams to enhance resident well-being while ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess residents and create individualized and group activity programs.
- Communicate with residents, families, and staff to ensure personalized engagement.
- Manage departmental operations, including budgeting, staffing, and care planning.
- Maintain accurate documentation of activities and resident participation.
- Conduct quality assurance checks and support regulatory compliance efforts.
- Oversee volunteer recruitment, training, and recognition.
- Assist in policy development and participate in survey processes.
- Support the Resident Council and advocate for resident needs.
- Stay current with industry best practices through training and education.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical and financial documents.
- High energy, enthusiasm, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in English (spoken and written).
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 50 lbs., stand, bend, walk, and perform physical tasks in a healthcare setting.
Education and/or Experience:
Associate degree (A.A) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience (preferred). Meets state and federal requirements.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Driver’s license per position requirements.
