What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Maintenance Manager position at Hoosier Village Retirement Community?
We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician who is ready for the next step in their career! As the Assistant Maintenance Manager you will be the additional support to diagnose problems, assist the other Maintenance Technicians as needed, and special projects around our beautiful campus. This is a full-time position with Monday - Friday hours from 9:00am - 5:30pm with a one weekend a month rotation.

Summary
The Assistant Maintenance Manager should have strong technical aptitude, excellent troubleshooting skills, and strong problem-solving skills. They should also have knowledge of mechanical, electrical, HVAC and electronics systems, and be able to work under pressure. A maintenance group leader oversees maintenance activities, such as the upkeep of all buildings. Their responsibilities include:
Duties and Responsibilities
- Scheduling: Scheduling maintenance tasks and activities
- Supervising: Supervising maintenance workers and monitoring their performance
- Inspecting: Performing inspections to identify problems and issues
- Repairing: Making repairs and ensuring timely completion
- Developing: Developing maintenance procedures, and standard operating procedures
- Advocating: Advocating for the department's needs.
- Responding: Responding to maintenance emergencies
- Communication: Communicate with maintenance manager daily.
- Rotate on call schedule.
- HVAC, plumbing, electrical certifications preferred.
Qualifications
- Familiarity with the operation of maintenance related tools and equipment.
- Possession of good customer service skills.
- Strong working knowledge of HVAC controls and control systems.
- Strong working knowledge of preventive maintenance procedures
