JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Registrar
REPORTS TO: Principal and/or Assistant Principal
JOB GOAL: To serve as an assistant to the principal and to perform other clerical duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Minimum of three (3) years’ professional/secretarial experience
- Effective interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on communication and collaboration with a wide variety of people and groups
- Word processing/computer experience with knowledge of MicroSoft Office, Excel, INow
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to proficiently use current technology to communicate, to manage data, and to produce/submit required reports
- Ability to meet suitability criteria under the Alabama Child Protection Act of 1999 and Act No. 2002-457
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as state, federal, and local law and the Board may require
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Demonstrates support for the school system and its vision, mission, goals, and priorities
- Maintains professionalism when working with staff, students, parents, and others
- Types correspondence as directed
- Answers incoming calls and directs appropriately
- Processes incoming and outgoing mail
- Assists with copiers, school printers, and fax machines
- Inputs student information and maintains records in INow
- Enrolls, transfers, and withdraws students and collects proper documentation
- Updates and maintains the attendance records and reports in INow
- Creates reports based on school needs, including but not limited to grades, attendance, discipline, contact information, medical, group lists, and bus reports
- Verifies residency within school boundaries
- Creates schedules in INow if deemed necessary
- Retains students and runs year-end reports for school
- Maintains records of maintenance work orders
- Maintains confidentiality of all school related business
- Works with District to maintain consistency of student information
- Adheres to local Board policies, administrative procedures, and other like directives, as well as state, federal, and local laws
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned by Supervisor(s)
