The responsibilities of the Clinical Director include:
· The Clinical Director will supervise all nursing tasks on the unit.
· The Clinical Director is responsible for teaching and counseling unit’s nursing personnel This includes having knowledge of, supporting, and interpreting administrative and nursing policies and procedures.
· Making daily rounds on each resident to evaluate any needs and the effectiveness of nursing care provided, following up on concerns that require further action as well as addressing family member concerns.
· Supervision of unit’s resident care plans, ensuring that care plans are current and relevant.
· Attending monthly interdisciplinary resident care plan conferences and MD care plan meetings as needed
· Promoting effective communication between unit personnel on all shifts, conferring with other licensed staff regarding unit and resident problems.
· Ensuring monthly re-caps / orders are correct for each resident on the unit.
· Maintaining a safe environment on the unit
· Notifying supervisors of problems or concerns involving employees or with other departments and completing employee communication forms as necessary.
· Ensuring daily assignments for all nursing personnel on the unit are completed during each shift and that assignments are done accurately and efficiently.
· Responding to any emergency or urgent resident need when called.
· Reading, understanding, and maintaining easy access to the Nursing Department Policy and Procedure manual.
· Attending Team Meeting and any other meetings requested by Nursing Administration.
· Full compliance with all aspects of Hooverwood’s Corporate Compliance program and its Code of Conduct.
· Performing other tasks as assigned by Director of Nursing, Assistant Director of Nursing and the Executive Director.
· Assessing all referrals for admission to Kraft Commons.
· Maintaining the resident assessment schedule for routine and COC as well as maintaining all immunization records and Infection Control records for residents of Kraft Commons.
Requirements
Qualifications for the Clinical Director:
· Must possess a nursing degree from an accredited School of Nursing.
· Experience with a geriatric population preferred.
· Previous management experience preferred.
Employee recognizes that the Clinical Director is considered a HIGH RISK- CATEGORY 1 for exposure to blood borne pathogens and is provided the opportunity to receive a 3 shot HBV immunizations series if he/she may wish, immediately upon receipt of the job description.
