We are seeking an entry-level Bitcoin Mining Operations Technician to join our team at hop-global-service. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our Bitcoin mining facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation and Setup: Set up and install mining hardware such as ASIC miners, and other related components. Configure mining hardware and software to ensure they are properly set up for efficient mining.
- Routine Inspections: Perform regular inspections of mining hardware to identify and address potential issues. Keep mining equipment clean and free of dust to prevent overheating and maintain efficiency.
- Update Firmware: Update firmware on mining equipment to the latest versions to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and troubleshoot hardware and software issues that impact mining performance. Perform repairs on faulty hardware components, such as replacing defective parts (powers and fans etc).
Monitoring and Optimization
- Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor the performance of mining hardware and software to ensure efficient operation. Adjust settings and configurations to optimize the performance and profitability of mining operations.
Networking and Connectivity
- Network Setup: Assist in setting up and maintaining the network infrastructure for mining operations.
- Connectivity: Troubleshoot and resolve connectivity issues that affect the mining hardware's connection to the mining pool or network.
- Cooling Systems: Monitor and maintain cooling systems to prevent overheating of mining hardware.
Reporting and Compliance
- Reporting: Provide regular reports on the status and performance of mining equipment to supervisors or management.
- Compliance: Ensure that mining operations comply with relevant regulations and industry standards.
Requirements
- Education: Prefer Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience in a IT role, preferably in a IT troubleshooting environment.
- Skills: Knowledge of computer hardware, software, and best practices.
- Availability: Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
- Physical Ability: Physical ability to lift and move heavy equipment.
