Customer Service Cashier

Overview
We are seeking a motivated and friendly Cashier/Sales associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing excellent customer service while efficiently handling transactions. You will be responsible for managing the cash register, assisting customers with their purchases, and maintaining an organized store environment. Responsibilities

• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately and efficiently.
• Process customer transactions, including cash, credit, and debit payments.
• Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers and assisting them with their inquiries.
• Upsell products when appropriate to enhance the shopping experience and increase sales.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout area and store shelves.
• Stock shelves with merchandise as needed to ensure product availability.
• Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth operations.
• Assist in supervising junior staff during busy periods to maintain workflow.

Experience

• Previous experience in a cashier or sales role is preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with cash registers and POS systems is an advantage.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
• Basic math skills for handling transactions and providing change.
• Experience in a grocery store environment is a plus but not mandatory.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.

Pay: $9.50 - $10.00 per hour
