Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of purchasing experience is required, preferably in the healthcare field.

Essential Functions

  • Provides hands-on supervision and support, directing and supporting team members to achieve customer service and department objectives throughout the organization.
  • Oversight of the ordering, receipt, and distribution of clinical and non-clinical supplies, equipment, and instrumentation.
  • Proactive implementation and management of all inventories and purchasing systems.
  • Collaboration with departments to anticipate material needs.
  • Assist in the purchase cycle through billing and collection.
  • Works to monitor PAR levels and manage inventory.
  • Provides hands-on leadership and support, directing and supporting team members to achieve customer service and department objectives throughout the organization.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze equipment needs.
  • Resolves problems and opportunities in the assigned function.
  • Process purchase requisitions, purchase change orders, and requests for quotes.
  • Communicates with appropriate departments when problems become evident.
  • Mitigate material shortages and/or planning work order delays through direct involvement with production resources and suppliers.
  • Expedite, delay, or cancel orders as needed.
  • Coordinate purchasing activities with departments and offices to acquire inventory in a cost-effective and timely manner.
  • Interfaces with Accounting to resolve materials-related discrepancies.
  • Performs Coupa inventory control (IC) functions within Coupa, as assigned.
  • Maintain records of goods ordered and received.
  • Participate in the development of specifications for equipment, products, or substitute materials.
  • Analyze market and delivery systems to assess present and future material availability.
  • Work to become an expert in all purchasing systems.
  • Oversight bio-medical equipment through maintenance and repairs via third-party vendors and/or contractors.
  • Maintains Safety Data Sheets.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Physical/Mental Demands

  • Requires sitting and standing associated with a normal office environment.
  • Some bending and stretching required.
  • Manual dexterity using a calculator and computer keyboard.
  • Must be able to withstand physical activity which includes the ability to move or lift at least 50 pounds.
  • May perform work in the department utilizing a cart to push/pull approximately 100 lbs.
