Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of five (5) years of purchasing experience is required, preferably in the healthcare field.
Essential Functions
- Provides hands-on supervision and support, directing and supporting team members to achieve customer service and department objectives throughout the organization.
- Oversight of the ordering, receipt, and distribution of clinical and non-clinical supplies, equipment, and instrumentation.
- Proactive implementation and management of all inventories and purchasing systems.
- Collaboration with departments to anticipate material needs.
- Assist in the purchase cycle through billing and collection.
- Works to monitor PAR levels and manage inventory.
- Provides hands-on leadership and support, directing and supporting team members to achieve customer service and department objectives throughout the organization.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze equipment needs.
- Resolves problems and opportunities in the assigned function.
- Process purchase requisitions, purchase change orders, and requests for quotes.
- Communicates with appropriate departments when problems become evident.
- Mitigate material shortages and/or planning work order delays through direct involvement with production resources and suppliers.
- Expedite, delay, or cancel orders as needed.
- Coordinate purchasing activities with departments and offices to acquire inventory in a cost-effective and timely manner.
- Interfaces with Accounting to resolve materials-related discrepancies.
- Performs Coupa inventory control (IC) functions within Coupa, as assigned.
- Maintain records of goods ordered and received.
- Participate in the development of specifications for equipment, products, or substitute materials.
- Analyze market and delivery systems to assess present and future material availability.
- Work to become an expert in all purchasing systems.
- Oversight bio-medical equipment through maintenance and repairs via third-party vendors and/or contractors.
- Maintains Safety Data Sheets.
- Other duties as assigned.
Physical/Mental Demands
- Requires sitting and standing associated with a normal office environment.
- Some bending and stretching required.
- Manual dexterity using a calculator and computer keyboard.
- Must be able to withstand physical activity which includes the ability to move or lift at least 50 pounds.
- May perform work in the department utilizing a cart to push/pull approximately 100 lbs.
