Wages & Benefits
$25.00 - $27.00 per hour; Generous Paid Time Off (PTO) policies, plus eight paid holidays and two floating holidays; competitive health, dental, and vision insurance. There is employer paid basic life insurance with the option for additional coverage paid by the employee. The employer pays for Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) and short- and long-term disability insurance. H4Y sponsors a retirement plan with a 3% employer match and immediate vesting.
A Typical Day in the Life…
A typical day as HOPE 4 Youth’s HOPE Place Program Supervisor provides an opportunity to oversee and supervise the daily operations of the organization’s 12- unit transitional housing program. Responsibilities will include the following:
- Performing unit checks as needed (at least once per month with each resident and more frequently when residents first enter).
- Ensuring the site is clean, properly maintained, and safe for youth and staff.
- Managing, representing, and guiding any on-site vendors or service personnel during appointments.
- Communicating any maintenance needs to the Director of Programs and Facilities.
- Working with Anoka County’s Coordinated Entry Process and other referral sources on the placement of youth at HOPE Place.
- Collaborating with the Sr. Program Manager to complete intakes/assessments and ensure documentation is in place and submitted for financial assistance.
- Holding weekly 1:1 case management meetings with residents that include assisting them with setting and achieving goals utilizing the 4 pillars of case management philosophy.
- Providing referrals to resources with partnering and community agencies for various youth needs.
- Utilizing databases to maintain client records, case notes, program statistics, and other data required by funding sources while ensuring data privacy practices are followed.
- Providing program data reports and information for internal use, external constituents, and funders.
- Coordinating and facilitating group meetings, classes, workshops, and activities for all participants at HOPE Place.
- Monitoring and responding to internal and external communications in a timely manner.
- Providing backup coverage for the Welcome Desk as needed, which may include evenings and weekends.
- Representing and reporting back actions or key themes from agency and community meetings.
- Recommending changes for the betterment of the organization’s programs and helping ensure programming is grounded in best practices for serving youth experiencing homelessness in our community.
Who You Are
- You hold a bachelor’s degree in human services or a related field, or you have an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- You have 3-5 years of experience working within non-profits or a service organization, including 1-2 years of supervisory experience, preferably with at-risk youth or those experiencing homelessness ages 18-24.
- It is preferred if you have some experience working in a housing program but not required.
- You embrace volunteers as an integral part of the organization and are willing to manage, supervise, work alongside, and foster good relationships with them.
- You demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a diverse, mission-driven agency committed to the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion concerning race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, nationality, and religion.
- You have the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with youth, families, and community service providers.
- You demonstrate a clear understanding of effective crisis intervention and trauma-informed care, with strong problem-solving skills.
- You possess strong computer skills and are proficient in MS Word and Excel.
- You have a valid driver’s license, access to reliable transportation, and the ability to meet H4Y’s driving record requirements. Please note that if the license was not issued in the state of Minnesota, you have 60 days after becoming a Minnesota resident in which to apply for your Minnesota driver's license or permit (not applicable for new hires living out of state).
