Wages & Benefits
$22.00 - $24.00 per hour; Generous Paid Time Off (PTO) policies, plus eight paid holidays and two floating holidays; competitive health, dental, and vision insurance. There is employer paid basic life insurance with the option for additional coverage paid by the employee. The employer pays for Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) and short- and long-term disability insurance. H4Y sponsors a retirement plan with a 3% employer match and immediate vesting.
A Typical Day in the Life…
A typical day as HOPE 4 Youth’s Youth Services Coordinator provides an opportunity to support youth experiencing homelessness through compassionate, quality case management and providing access and referrals to basic needs and supplies, community resources, and services. Responsibilities will include the following:
- Providing case management to youth in alignment with their goals towards sustainable housing.
- Completing intakes and assessments for new youth participants.
- Providing youth with referrals to community resources and services.
- Documenting through Client Track to include services, case notes, case management hours, and financial support (including, but not limited to, internal housing funds, gift cards, utility payments, etc.).
- Providing guidance and support to volunteers to ensure policies, procedures, and protocols are followed and participant needs are being met.
- Maintaining safety policies and procedures within the HOPE 4 Youth Center.
- Enforcing community agreement rules with youth in the HOPE 4 Youth Center.
- Developing partnerships with schools, organizations, and local businesses for positive outreach relationships.
- Providing on-site supervision for interns at all levels (undergrad, graduate, etc.).
- Assisting in creating and maintaining data tracking outreach program metrics.
- Assisting the Outreach Coordinator in completing street outreach in Anoka County to engage youth in programs.
- Following organization policies on tracking expenditures.
Who You Are
- You have a minimum of a High School diploma / GED.
- You have professional or lived experience of at least 3 years.
- Previous experience working with and providing case management for at-risk homeless youth ages 16-24 is preferred but not required.
- You have previous work experience in street outreach for youth. Current training through Streetworks is preferred but not required.
- You are fluent in English, and a second language is preferred. Spanish-speaking is a plus!
- You can work effectively in a diverse, mission-driven agency committed to the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion, with respect to race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, nationality, and religion.
- You embrace volunteers as an integral part of the organization and are willing to manage, supervise, work alongside, and foster good relationships with them.
- You are committed to the mission and can effectively articulate the values and mission of HOPE 4 Youth.
- You have the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with youth, families, and community service providers.
- You demonstrate an understanding of effective crisis intervention and programming that is trauma-informed, strength-based, client-centered, and follows a harm-reduction philosophy.
- You are proficient in MS Word, Excel, and can produce letters, emails, and reports of professional quality.
- It is preferred if you have experience with databases and data.
- You have a valid driver’s license, access to reliable transportation, and can meet H4Y’s driving record requirements. If the license was not issued in the state of Minnesota, you have 60 days after becoming a Minnesota resident to apply for your Minnesota driver's license or permit (not applicable for new hires living out of state).
