Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Billing Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing billing processes, ensuring accurate coding, and maintaining medical records.

Responsibilities

• Process and manage billing for medical services, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
• Utilize coding systems such as ICD-9 to assign appropriate codes for diagnoses and procedures.
• Maintain and update medical records, ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate.
• Handle medical collections, following up on outstanding accounts and resolving discrepancies.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify billing issues and obtain necessary information.
• Review billing reports for accuracy and completeness before submission.
• Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations and coding practices to ensure compliance.

Skills

• Proficiency in medical billing systems and software.
• Experience in a medical office setting is preferred.
• Familiarity with medical records management and documentation practices.
• Ability to perform medical collection tasks effectively.
• Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
• Strong communication skills for effective interaction with healthcare providers and patients.
• Knowledge of Advanced MD electronic health record program is a plus.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 20 per week
