What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substitute position at HOPE CHRISTIAN SCHOOLS INC?
Job Summary: Support our campus offices with all items including attendance and substituting in various classrooms as needed. School year August 2024 - May 2025.
Essential Functions:
- Teach classes as assigned and following the lesson plans from the teacher when subbing in classrooms
- Implement pre-prepared lesson plans provided by the teacher
- Integrate biblical principles and the Christian philosophy of education
- Know the procedures for dealing with emergency situations.
- Provide a summary of the day's activities and student progress for the teacher
- Inform the administration in a timely manner if unable to fulfill any duty assigned
Qualifications:
- Minimum high school diploma and relevant coursework in education or experience in related field. Bachelor's degree preferred
- Experience as teacher or substitute preferred
- Reflect the purpose of the school, which is to honor Christ
- Cooperate with the HCS Administration in implementing all policies, procedures and directives governing the operation of the school
- Comply with all Hope Christian School policies and procedures.
- Strong classroom management skills that enforce school rules and policies and maintain a positive and orderly learning environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work professionally with students and parents
- Good communication skills and the ability to deal professionally with students and parents
