What are the responsibilities and job description for the Communications and Adult Discipleship Associate position at Hope Church?
Purpose: To provide comprehensive leadership and implementation of all aspects of communications, presenting a clear voice and content that shares Hope Church’s vision and story; and to collaborate in the development and leadership of discipleship ministries.
Communications
- Create high-quality, high impact communications that effectively reach the intended audience; for those already here and the ones on the way.
- Design and illustrate a wide range of projects from concept to completion, including but not limited to brochures, flyers, welcome materials, banners, newspaper ads, business cards, etc.
- Prepare and send weekly email updates to the congregation.
- Post on social media to engage the online experience (Facebook and Instagram).
- Provide oversight and updates to the website.
- Prepare the annual report to the congregation and the annual stewardship packets.
Discipleship
- Collaborate with the Associate Pastor for Discipleship to implement a comprehensive discipleship pathway.
- Help ensure that studies and events correlate with Hope’s yearly theme.
- Support training of teams and group leaders.
- Support ongoing evangelistic programs such as Alpha through participation and leadership as requested.
- Help recruit and follow up with speakers for adult ministry groups.
- Attend and help provide leadership for Adult Discipleship Ministry Team meetings.
- Provide direction and support to the Men’s and Women’s ministry teams.
- Hospitality
Help with recruitment for hospitality teams in conjunction with the Adult Discipleship Pastor.
- Set up Planning Center for the hospitality volunteers.
- Provide administrative support in following up with guests and welcoming them into the life of Hope Church.
Administrative and Ministry Support
- Participate in and prepare materials for the Covenant Partner classes.
- Be present on Sunday mornings – available to greet speakers, to connect with hospitality volunteers, and to provide leadership in worship services.
- Maintain software, hardware, and materials needed to execute excellent communication products.
- Maintain and work within the annual budget.
- Attend weekly Servant Leadership Team meetings.
- Provide occasional substitute coverage at the reception desk.
