Overview
Hope Church CEC is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Director to lead our Child Enrichment Center. The ideal Christian candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for children, and managing staff. This role involves developing and implementing educational programs, maintaining compliance with state regulations, and fostering positive relationships with parents and the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the childcare center, ensuring a safe, happy, and nurturing environment for children.
- Develop and implement age-appropriate educational programs and activities.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations and licensing requirements.
- Manage and support a team of teachers and staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
- Foster positive relationships with parents, addressing their concerns and providing regular updates on their child's progress.
- Maintain accurate records, including attendance, enrollment, and health and safety documentation.
- Develop and manage the center's budget, ensuring financial sustainability.
- Evaluate and purchase materials, equipment, and supplies.
- Complete training and courses to remain update to date with daycare standards and procedures.
- Interview, hire, train new staff members to meet all policies and legal requirements.
- Promote the center within the community and build partnerships with local organizations.
Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a childcare or educational setting, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Licensure is required. Licensed/certified for director position.
- Strong knowledge of state and local regulations and licensing requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage and support a diverse team of teachers and staff.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving skills, and time management skills.
- CPR and First Aid certification is required. (Child Enrichment Center will provide training.)
- Must pass a background check and have a clean criminal record.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry children and equipment up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
