Communications Intern
Purpose Statement:
Hope Church seeks a Communications Intern to coordinate various aspects of our marketing, digital engagement and media production. This role is crucial for ensuring consistent communication, effective media strategies, and high-quality content that aligns with our mission and values.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Marketing Coordination:
- Process marketing requests from ministry leaders and coordinate communication between all project stakeholders
- Keep marketing projects up to date with details for team members through project management software.
- Assign tasks and set deadlines to ensure timely completion. Follow-up with volunteers and staff, as needed.
- Notify the Director of Communications regarding any emergencies or significant issues.
2. Digital Engagement Coordination:
- Review the church websites by removing outdated content and refreshing text, media, and links.
- Develop and support social media marketing strategies for digital platforms (currently Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok)
- Support organic search and paid advertising strategies.
- Address urgent technical issues by contacting the Director of Communications for prompt assistance.
3. Media Production & Coordination:
- Collaborate with ministry leaders to edit and/or create media content. This includes static designs (posters, social squares, etc.) to more dynamic ones such as video reels or audio.
- Coordinate with AV Arts by sending all designed preservice media for the upcoming services.
- Assist AV Arts with captioning videos for services as needed.
- Design, resize, and distribute media materials for ministries
For Example, a message series would include
- Instagram graphics
- Facebook cover photos
- YouTube cover photos
- Message series titles and bumper videos
- Individual slides for each weekly message title
- Organize & share all designed materials for easy collaboration amongst the team.
4. Quality Control and Proofreading:
- Review personal submissions and designs from team members for typos and ensure all materials are correctly branded with appropriate logos, colors, and campus identifiers.
- Seek assistance from relevant team members in proofreading materials for public distribution.
Qualifications:
- Experience in graphic design and communications.
- Proficiency in design software and web management tools; experience with Canva and WordPress is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with various teams and leaders.
- A good listener who can graciously receive feedback.
