Hope Community Resources, Inc. is a non-profit disabilities service provider based in Anchorage, Alaska. Founded in 1968, our company provides services and supports to people of all ages and abilities who experience an intellectual, developmental, or other disability, traumatic brain injury, or mental health challenge.
The Lead Direct Support Professional (LDSP) provides services to Hope support recipients through their leadership of an Assisted Living Home. The LDSP works scheduled shifts in the home providing overall management of the assigned home.
Responsibilities include:
- Ensure the health and safety of support recipients and provides a wide range of services.
- Teach living skills, social and communication skills, and other needed life skills for social independence and community inclusion.
- Facilitate communication amongst all members of the support recipient’s team.
- Lead the team of direct support employees who work in the home, ensuring the implementation of the Plan of Care and/or support plan.
Education and Experience
- High School diploma or GED required. Associate’s degree in Human Services, Health or Social Science, Special Education or other related field preferred. Emphasis of study in developmental disabilities preferred.
- Four years of experience providing direct support services required
- One year of which involves supervisory experience required
