HOPE Community Services, Inc. is seeking a skilled and compassionate Psychiatrist to join our multidisciplinary team. As a Psychiatrist at HOPE, you’ll join our medical team to provide psychiatric evaluations, diagnose mental health conditions, prescribe medications, and collaborate on treatment planning. Your role will help individuals with mental health and co-occurring disorders take steps toward wellness and recovery in a supportive, trauma-informed setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and mental status examinations for new and existing clients.
- Diagnose psychiatric disorders and prescribe, adjust, and monitor psychotropic medications in accordance with agency protocols and standards of care.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of therapists, case managers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
- Lead treatment planning meetings, providing medical and clinical insights.
- Offer crisis support and urgent psychiatric consultations when necessary.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record system, adhering to all agency, state, and federal regulations.
- Support and promote HOPE’s mission by delivering culturally responsive, person-centered care.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current on best practices in psychiatry and behavioral health.
Qualifications
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
- Completion of an accredited residency program in Psychiatry.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible Psychiatrist in Oklahoma.
- A minimum of two years’ experience in a behavioral health or community mental health setting is preferred.
- Current and unrestricted DEA license.
- Must have a valid and unrestricted license to practice medicine in Oklahoma.
Skills & Abilities
- Strong clinical knowledge of psychiatric disorders and psychopharmacology.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Empathy, professionalism, and a client-centered approach to care.
- Experience with electronic health record systems and clinical software.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative treatment team.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus but not required.
