- Job Summary:
The Medication Aide is responsible for administration of medications to residents of the assisted living center. The Medication Aide provides assistance to the residents living within the assisted living in all areas of daily living through redirection, guidance, and adherence to any individually personalized plan of any resident.

1. Responsible to: Facility Administrator
2. Interrelationships: The Medication Aide relates regularly with residents, facility staff, and resident representatives; works cooperatively with outside vendors and individuals.
- Responsibilities
Support and assist all residents in the Assisted Living Facility
Administer medications to all residents according to the Medication Aide Act and observing the Five Rights of Medication Administration at all times.
Chart EVERY SHIFT in the software.
Communicate through shift to shift report process EVERY SHIFT.
Collect vital signs as directed by direct supervisor.
Perform “Additional Activities” according to the Medication Aide Act.
Observe, record, and report required activities of each resident DAILY.
Assist residents in maintaining their living space in a sanitary and homelike condition through redirection, guidance, and individualized service plan direction. Record outcomes accurately.
Maintain the assisted living facility in a safe, sanitary, and homelike environment.
Report any maintenance issues appropriately to the administrator.
Account for ALL controlled medications at the beginning of every shift and at the end of every shift. This requires two med aides are present EVERY TIME.
Report any medication that is missing immediately.
Maintain an organized and compliant medication cart throughout EVERY shift.
Utilize the facility time clock to punch in at the start of EVERY shift and at the end of EVERY shift.
Manage time clock and scheduling software to maintain awareness of scheduled shifts.
- Qualifications:
Must be 18 years of age.
Have completed an accredited 40 hour medication aide course AND completed a state test and appear on the DHHS Licensure Registry.
Submit to an APS/CPS registry check and return NO adverse findings.
Have NO adverse findings on the Nebraska Sex Offender Registry.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
