What are the responsibilities and job description for the Counselor position at HOPE Family Services, Inc.?
Counselor's work with children and parents who have been victims of, or witnesses to, domestic violence. The counselor provides individual, group and when appropriate family counseling to help participants heal from the trauma of domestic violence while learning safe, appropriate ways of dealing with life’s stressors.
The counselor must possess an expert understanding of domestic violence, including the importance appropriate techniques for helping traumatized individuals, safety planning, and referrals. The candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of the services and programs of the certified domestic violence center.
