What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cook position at Hope for Youth?
Hope For Youth has an exciting opportunity for a part-time cook! Hope For Youth is a nonprofit organization specializing in child welfare services. For over 50 years, Hope For Youth strives to provide positive outcomes for children, adolescents, and families. To be a successful cook, you must be ready, able, and willing to do the following always:
- Responsible for daily lunch and dinner preparation and keeping breakfast station fully stocked. Food preparation includes preparing trays in advance for weekend use.
- Prepare monthly menus of healthy balanced meals.
- Prepare specialized meals as needed, ie. diabetic, low-fat, etc.
- Food ordering and shops within allotted budget.
- Maintaining kitchen and equipment cleanliness at all times
- Safe food storage and handling as per regulations.
- Perform other resulting and necessary work to meet the needs and requirements of the clients, the program, Hope For Youth, oversight agency and any other regulatory obligations
To qualify for this job you need to have at minimum:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Driver's License
- Ability to lift/move up to fifty (50) pounds, stand for long periods
- Physical Requirements: read/write reports and log entries, walking/standing/sitting for prolonged periods, bending/stooping, kneeling/squatting, climbing stairs, reaching overhead, repetitive wrist/finger movements, ongoing access to reliable vehicle and driving own vehicle for work
This opportunity is being offered as, 20 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 9am - 2pm
