What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nassau Juvenile Justice Services: Program Supervisor position at Hope for Youth?
The Juvenile Justice Services Program consists of case management, restorative justice conferences and clinical services for up to 40 youth comprised of PINS, Juvenile Offender/Juvenile Delinquents, JD-Raise the Age, and Adolescent Offenders as referred by Nassau County Probation Department. The program design offers family focused treatment services that have been shown to be effective in addressing problems associated with risk of delinquency.
The Program Supervisor will be responsible for the oversight of the Nassau County Juvenile Justice Services Program, providing direct administrative supervision to a staff of two Case Managers and two MDFT therapists.
To be a successful Program Supervisor you must be ready, willing and able to do the following always:
- Function within Agency's policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Manual.
- Function within the Agency policy and procedure as outlined in the program guide and applicable codes of conduct.
- Support program staff by providing them with the knowledge, skills and tools necessary in order for them to successfully achieve outcomes and objectives of the program (shared).
- Maintain program utilization at maximum levels (shared).
- Work collaboratively with other HFY programs and referral sources and engage in activities that support the mission and values of HFY.
- Perform other resulting and necessary work to meet the needs and requirements of the clients, the program, Hope For Youth, oversight agency and any other regulatory obligations
How you will generally spend your time in this job:
- Staff meetings and weekly supervision
- Documentation and related paperwork review
- Prepare program reports and statistics.
- Collaborate and maintain communication with NC Probation Department
- Participate in committee's and necessary follow-up work
- Represent organization in outside committees
To qualify for this job you need to be or have at minimum:
- Licensed master's level, 2 years supervisory experience
- Supervisory experience in field or related field
- Must have a valid NYS driver's license
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required
- Have computer knowledge
- Ability to:
- Read/write reports and log entries, repetitive wrist/finger movements
- Support other projects as needed
- Physical Requirements: read/write reports and log entries, walking/standing/sitting for prolonged periods, bending/stooping, kneeling/squatting, climbing stairs, reaching overhead, repetitive wrist/finger movements, ongoing access to reliable vehicle and driving own vehicle for work
