The PC Analyst is responsible for providing technical support, maintenance, and troubleshooting for personal computers and related systems within the natural gas company. This role ensures the efficient operation of hardware and software used in daily business activities, with a focus on enhancing productivity and reliability. The PC Analyst works closely with internal users to resolve technical issues, manage system upgrades, and maintain cybersecurity standards.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide first-level technical support for desktop, laptop, and peripheral devices, resolving hardware and software issues in a timely manner.
Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, business applications, and security software.
Troubleshoot and repair hardware malfunctions, coordinating with vendors for warranty or service repairs as needed.
Assist in the deployment and management of IT equipment, including imaging and deploying computers for new hires, printers, and system upgrades.
Monitor and maintain inventory of IT assets, ensuring accurate records of equipment assignments and replacements.
Collaborate with other IT staff to support network connectivity and resolve system-wide issues.
Educate employees on technology best practices and provide end-user training as needed.
Maintain compliance with company policies, procedures, and cybersecurity standards.
Participate in technology projects, contributing to the evaluation, selection, and implementation of new tools and systems.
Document technical procedures and maintain an organized knowledge base for troubleshooting and operations
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES
Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing Windows-based operating systems and applications.
Knowledge of Active Directory, Microsoft Office Suite, and other business software.
Familiarity with basic networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, and Wi-Fi configurations.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues effectively.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
Organizational skills and attention to detail for managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with IT asset management and documentation practices.
EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred; relevant work experience accepted in lieu of degree
2-4 years of experience in a technical support or PC analyst role, preferably in the utilities sector or a similar industry.
Certifications such as CompTIA A , Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, or equivalent are a plus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate must be able to complete the following physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation:
Ability to lift and carry computer equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, handling small components, and operating tools.
Occasional standing, walking, and bending to access equipment and perform repairs.
WORK CONTEXT
Primarily office-based with regular visits to field locations to support remote users.
Requires on-call availability for urgent technical support needs outside regular business hours.
Interaction with employees at all levels of the organization, requiring strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
Exposure to standard office equipment and IT infrastructure in server rooms or other technical environments.
Adherence to safety protocols when working in proximity to natural gas operations or industrial settings.
