What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hope Harbor Girls Home Respite Backup Parent position at Hope Harbor?
The Hope Harbor Respite Backup Parent fills in for the House Parent as needed, providing respite care and support to teenagers facing challenges, with the overarching goal of preventing homelessness and ensuring their long-term success. This role involves creating a safe and nurturing environment, fostering positive relationships, and contributing to the overall well-being of the teens under the care of Hope Harbor.
This is a part time, backup position with a variable schedule that includes weekend and vacation coverage.
Hope Harbor began as an emergency crisis shelter for teen runaways. Through the years, Hope Harbor has evolved into a unique, preventive-care program providing temporary housing (12-18 months), mental health care, academic support, and all basic necessities to at-risk, homeless, or runaway teens in Orange County. More than just temporary relief, Hope Harbor not only stabilizes these teens but brings restoration to the entire family unit before their teen ends up on the streets or becomes a ward of the court system.
