Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a holistic perspective to join our team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive mental health care to patients across various age groups. You will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating mental health conditions while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Your expertise in psychiatric care will be essential in developing individualized treatment plans and providing ongoing support to patients and their families.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients’ mental health status, including history taking and physical examinations.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based practices.
- Provide psychotherapy and medication management as appropriate for each patient’s needs.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with ICD-10 coding requirements.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and ensure comprehensive treatment.
- Educate patients and families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies.
- Stay current with advancements in psychiatric care and participate in ongoing professional development.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Nursing with a focus on Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program.
- You are a board certified PMHNP
- Active Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Georgia.
- Have a valid DEA number
- Malpractice Insurance
- Have a collaborating physician or are willing to obtain one
- Previous experience in a medical office or hospital setting preferred.
- Proficient in handling medical records and documentation processes.
- Strong understanding of mental health disorders across the lifespan.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build rapport with patients and families.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
