Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to our animal patients. This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits.
Duties:
- Assist veterinarians in performing medical procedures and examinations
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Prepare animals for surgery and assist during surgical procedures
- Take and develop X-rays
- Monitor anesthesia during surgical procedures
- Perform laboratory tests and analyze results
- Provide post-operative care and monitor recovery progress
- Clean and maintain kennels, exam rooms, and surgical areas
- Handle animals with care and ensure their comfort and safety
- Assist with animal grooming, including bathing and nail trimming
- Perform animal catheterization when necessary
Requirements:
- Certified Veterinary Technician or equivalent experience preferred
- Experience in surgical prep & monitoring, and dental cleaning for dogs and cats
- Strong knowledge of animal physiology and veterinary critical care
- Proficient in animal handling techniques
- Experience with X-ray equipment operation
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures and equipment
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
