We work with individuals and families in the Baton Rouge and New Roads areas experiencing poverty, offering innovative workforce development, education, and essential support services that create lasting change.
Our core programs/initiatives include:
The Way to Work (TWTW) – A nationally recognized workforce development program that equips individuals with the skills, training, and support they need to secure stable, living-wage employment.
The Client Choice Food Pantry (CCFP) – A dignified, grocery store-style food pantry that provides fresh, nutritious food to families in crisis while helping them develop long-term stability plans.
SKILLED BR – A shared online collaborative platform that brings together employers, service providers, and education providers that breaks down silos in workforce development. By fostering seamless coordination, SKILLED BR helps fill the skills gap by connecting individuals facing employment barriers—with the training, education, job opportunities, and support services they need to achieve sustainable careers.
RISE (Reaching Individual Success through Employment) – A workforce initiative offering online and in-person educational opportunities in high-demand fields such as plumbing, electrical, HVAC, CDL, and various medical certifications to help individuals gain industry-recognized credentials and secure well-paying jobs.
About the Role
As the Director of Marketing and Development, you will lead efforts to increase awareness, grow financial support, and strengthen relationships with donors, corporate partners, and the community. You will oversee fundraising, marketing, communications, and event planning, ensuring HOPE Ministries has the resources needed to expand its impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a strategic marketing and fundraising plan to increase financial support and program visibility.
- Lead brand messaging and ensure compelling storytelling across digital, print, social media, and traditional media.
- Cultivate relationships with donors, corporate sponsors, and community partners to grow financial support.
- Manage donor relations, including stewardship, major gifts, grant writing, and CRM/database management.
- Plan and execute fundraising events that engage supporters and elevate HOPE’s mission.
- Work with leadership to effectively communicate program impact, sharing real success stories that inspire action.
- Oversee marketing campaigns and initiatives to increase participation in The Way to Work and the Client Choice Food Pantry.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in marketing, fundraising, or nonprofit development.
- Proven success in securing corporate sponsorships, grants, and major gifts.
- Experience in event planning, donor stewardship, and digital marketing.
- Strong understanding of fundraising CRM systems and social media management tools.
