The Occupational Therapist at Hope Network is a vital member of our interdisciplinary team, responsible for delivering clinical consultations and rehabilitation programming to individuals with autism.
This role involves conducting thorough evaluations, individual and group treatment sessions, and documenting progress while adhering to the standards set by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical consultations, evaluations, and rehabilitation programming for individuals at the Center for Autism.
- Preliminary screening of individual needs for OT intervention, ADL and clinical evaluation and treatment.
- Maintaining accurate data and treatment records accounting for treatment activities.
- Participation in departmental maintenance and program development.
- Consult with center staff to ensure comprehensive delivery of recommended services to individuals.
The Occupational Therapist is responsible for adhering to established standards determined by the Nation Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy, Inc. in all areas of individual intervention and holds valid Michigan licensure.
Key Tasks:
- Train, schedule, and supervise assigned staff in carrying out individual treatment plans.
- Perform sensory processing evaluations, ADL, IADL, and other appropriate clinical assessments, designing and monitoring subsequent treatment.
- Promote community integration.
- Monitor individual progress and maintain accurate records of treatment through data collection and treatment reports as assigned.
- Participate in individual goal development, coordination of services, discharge planning, and family education as needed.
- Attend and verbally present at team meetings, clinical reviews, staff meetings, and in-services.
- Order individual-specific treatment supplies and equipment.
- Follow established policies and procedures to ensure safety of staff and individuals.
- Provide supervision for Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants, and/or OT students as required.
Requirements:
- Two years of professional work experience in a clinical setting preferred.
- Valid driver's license required according to Hope Network policy.
