Position Summary

The Development Associate will serve as an integral part of our Development Team to help create and implement strategies to ensure sustainability and organizational growth. The Development Associate is responsible for managing and optimizing all donor communications, including maintaining our donor database. As well as all individual and group volunteer management. As part of this team, the Development Associate provides support with Hope Partnership’s fundraising and outreach events.

This role supports the Development Team and the organization as a whole to ensure professional donor management and elevate our storytelling efforts to educate and engage people about poverty and homelessness.

Reports to: Chief Development Officer 

Salary Range: $35,000-38,000 plus benefits

Responsibilities and Duties

Administrative Support

•  Provide administrative support to the Chief Development Officer (CDO).
• Process client mail, ensuring timely and accurate placement in client mailboxes.
• Support all fundraising and community outreach events for Hope Partnership.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Donor and Database Management

• Manage, maintain, and expand the agency’s donor database (EveryAction).
• Cultivate individual donors through phone follow-ups and in-person conversations when applicable.
• Process donations and ensure accurate entry of fundraising data into the database.
• Ensure donor information is up to date and correctly entered.
• Compile and distribute donor acknowledgment communications,

including thank you emails, letters, postcards, and calls.

Volunteers

• Manage administrative tasks for the volunteer program, including maintaining the volunteer database (Volgistics), processing online applications, and conducting Volunteer Orientation.
• Coordinate all aspects of the volunteer program, including creating opportunities in collaboration with department heads, ongoing communication, marketing and recruiting, volunteer appreciation, and retention efforts.

Qualifications

Education & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Must believe in the core values of Hope Partnership and be driven by its mission.
• Able to pass a background check.

Skills & Abilities

• Strong organizational, multitasking, and information management skills; detail-oriented with effective time management.
• Self-driven and motivated, with the ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
• Proficient in donor file management and computer systems, with basic skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
• Strong relationship-building abilities; skilled at engaging and working with others.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Enthusiastic about fundraising and working with donors.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.

Technical & Mobility Requirements

• Possess a valid Florida driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and move objects weighing up to 10

pounds without assistance.
