Job Overview :
The Group Facilitator is responsible for leading therapeutic group sessions within the Outpatient Program during evening programming. They will work closely with individuals who have both substance use and mental health disorders, providing guidance, support, and education to facilitate recovery and wellness. The Group Facilitator will implement evidence-based practices and collaborate with the clinical team to create a supportive environment conducive to healing and growth.
Key Responsibilities :
- Plan and facilitate therapeutic group sessions for clients with co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders.
- Collaborate with the clinical team to develop group curricula and treatment plans tailored to the unique needs of clients.
- Utilize evidence-based interventions and techniques to address issues related to addiction, mental health, and recovery.
- Provide psychoeducation on topics such as coping skills, relapse prevention, stress management, and interpersonal relationships.
- Foster a safe and supportive atmosphere within the group setting, encouraging open communication and mutual respect among participants.
- Monitor group dynamics and individual progress, adjusting interventions as needed to meet the evolving needs of clients.
- Document client attendance, participation, and progress in accordance with program policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with case managers, therapists, and other treatment providers to ensure coordinated care and holistic treatment planning.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all aspects of group facilitation and client interaction.
- Participate in regular supervision, team meetings, and professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Qualifications :
Work Environment : The Group Facilitator will work in an outpatient setting, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to clients with co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders. The work will involve evening hours to accommodate client schedules. The Group Facilitator will report to the Clinical Supervisor or Executive Director and will have opportunities for professional growth and development within the organization.
