Description Secondary Special Education Description: The Hope Public School District is seeking a
Special Education Teacher with Secondary (9-12) Special Education Certification Qualifications:
1. Valid Arkansas Teaching Certificate, Secondary (9-12) Special Education Certification.
2. Must hold a current Arkansas Educator’s License with (9-12) Special Education or be
eligible to receive an Arkansas Educators' 9-12 Special Education endorsement.
3. If not licensed, must possess a Bachelor’s degree (minimum) and be willing to pursue
Arkansas educator licensure.
4. Must pass a background check of the Arkansas Child Maltreatment Central Registry.
5. Must demonstrate written and verbal communication skills.
6. The Special Education Teacher ensures that the school's special education program
provides necessary services for students with disabilities.
7. The teacher will work with parents, general education teachers, and administrators to
develop and implement individualized education plans to meet the needs of students with
disabilities.
8. The teacher will ensure compliance with all federal, state and district Special Education
requirements.
9. Current Arkansas Teacher Certification in Special Education Secondary (9-12) or be
working or willing to work toward Special Education certification under an alternative
licensure plain.
