Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Instructional Aide to support teachers in providing a positive learning environment for students. The ideal candidate will have a background in early childhood education and experience working with children, particularly those with diverse learning needs. As an Instructional Aide, you will assist in implementing educational activities, managing classroom behavior, and fostering a nurturing atmosphere that promotes childhood development.
Responsibilities
- Assist teachers in preparing and delivering instructional materials tailored to the needs of students.
- Support students in their daily activities, ensuring they engage effectively with the curriculum.
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote a positive classroom environment.
- Facilitate small group activities focusing on subjects such as math and literacy to enhance student understanding.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers regarding individual learning needs.
- Maintain a safe and organized classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to develop educational plans that meet the diverse needs of all students.
Requirements
- Previous experience in early childhood education or related fields is preferred.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and practices, including Montessori methods is a plus.
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques and strategies for working with children with autism.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team setting while also being able to take initiative when necessary.
- A passion for educating young learners and fostering their growth in a supportive environment.
- Experience working directly with students in a classroom or childcare setting is highly desirable.
