POSITION:
HVCC Summer Tennis & Pickleball Camp Counselor/Coach
LOCATION:
Durham, North Carolina
JOB OVERVIEW:
We are seeking enthusiastic, responsible, and fun-loving individuals to join our summer team as a Youth Camp Counselor at Hope Valley Country Club. Camp Counselors will create a safe, engaging, and memorable experience for children ages 4-12 years old, leading them through games, crafts, sports, and themed activities as part of our country club’s tennis & pickleball summer camp program.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONISBILITIES:
- Supervise and ensure the safety of campers at all times
- Assist Racquet Professional staff with daily activities including sports, arts & crafts, swimming, and group games
- Encourage participation and foster a positive, inclusive environment
- Assist with setup and cleanup of activities and camp areas
- Report directly to Racquet Professional staff and communicate effectively with Camp Lead, parents, fellow staff, and club members
- Follow all club policies and procedures, including emergency protocols
- Be a positive role model, demonstrating respect, teamwork, and leadership
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Must be 16 years of age
· Prior experience working with children preferred
· Tennis/Pickleball background strongly preferred
· CPR and First Aid certification
· Strong communication and teamwork skills
· Reliable, responsible, and energetic
· Ability to work outdoors and be active throughout the day
· Employees will be given a full background check
DATES AND HOURS OF CAMP:
Week of June 2nd, June 9th, June 16th, July 7th, July 14th, July 21st, July 28th, August 4th, & August 11th.
Full Day Camp runs Monday–Friday 8:30am-4pm
Half Day Camp runs 8:30am-12:30pm
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: Up to $15.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
