Job Title: Licensed Massage Therapist
Part-Time Position at Wrentham Developmental Center
Hope, a clinical and therapeutic provider, partners with the Wrentham Developmental Center to offer essential habilitative services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our goal is to optimize the quality of life and care for residents while promoting independence and functional ability.
The licensed massage therapist will provide therapeutic massage services to residents, utilizing techniques such as physical manipulation to ease contractures or spasms, increase extension, muscle relaxation, and decrease muscle tension.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide massage therapy as treatment for medical conditions, injuries, or wellness maintenance.
- Establish treatment goals and monitor progress towards goals, ensuring that the need for massage therapy is identified by a state-licensed physical therapist, occupational therapist, or physician.
- Evaluate clients for soft tissue condition, joint quality and function, muscle strength, and range of motion.
- Provide services and documentation within all required standards and regulations.
- Monitor health and safety issues and advise as necessary.
Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must possess a Massachusetts Massage License.
- Associate's degree or higher.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Enhanced understanding of medical/clinical records, consents, and confidentiality.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle multiple complex tasks or assignments.
- Proficiency in the use of personal computers and software applications.
