Summary:
The School Nurse provides direct nursing services to students to maximize health and wellness in the school community at our location in Edwardsville, IL.
What You Will Do
- Provide direct professional nursing services, first aid, illness, and emergency care to students in response to nursing assessments and in accordance with professional standards, Hope policies and procedures, and state and local mandates.
- Administer medications with appropriate documentation.
- Ensure all documentation, medical records, and consents are completed and updated.
- Perform mandated screening procedures for hearing and vision if applicable.
- Maintain communication with case managers, school personnel, and families to enhance cooperative action which will meet the health and safety needs of students.
- Complete accident reports for students.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding all school and health-related issues.
- Ability to complete school nurse certification within one year of employment if not already attained.
What You Will Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
- Valid Illinois license as a Professional Registered Nurse.
What We Prefer
- Valid IL School Nurse certification.
- 2 years of experience with a pediatric population.
- 2 years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Experience in an educational setting.
