WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide evaluation and treatment services in both an outpatient pediatric clinic and school-based settings. The SLP will work with children of varying ages and abilities, addressing speech, language, fluency, voice, social communication, and feeding/swallowing disorders. This role requires flexibility, strong collaboration skills, and the ability to tailor interventions to meet the unique needs of children in different environments.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Outpatient Pediatric Clinic:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations for speech, language, fluency disorders.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based practices.
- Provide direct therapy sessions to children with a variety of communication challenges, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), developmental delays, and articulation/phonological disorders.
- Educate and counsel families on strategies to support communication development at home.
- Conduct Augmentative & Alternative Communication (AAC) Evaluations and treatment.
- Collaborate with occupational therapists, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to provide multidisciplinary care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with clinic policies and insurance requirements.
School-Based Services:
- Conduct speech and language screenings, evaluations, and re-evaluations for students with suspected or identified communication disorders.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and participate in IEP meetings.
- Provide direct and indirect therapy services in individual, small group, and classroom settings.
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and parents to support students’ academic and social success.
- Maintain documentation and progress reports in accordance with school and state regulations.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Current Illinois licensure (or eligibility) as an SLP.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred (CFs may be considered).
- Experience in pediatric therapy and/or school-based services preferred.
- Familiarity with Augmentative & Alternative Communication (AAC) devices is a plus.
- Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently in both clinic and school settings.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Ability to transition between clinic and school-based environments.
- May require lifting equipment or assisting with therapy tools.
- Frequent standing, walking, and interaction with young children.
