Part Time Shelter Advocate
Hopeful Horizons is seeking Part Time Shelter Advocates to provide support and advocacy for victims of violence and abuse. The Shelter Advocate responds to calls from victims of domestic violence and sexual assault on our 24-hour support line, provides case management and support to victims of domestic violence in our emergency shelter program, keeps records, completes data entry tasks and offers a safe, supportive and clean environment for shelter residents. Shifts are typically on holidays, evenings, weekends and/or overnight.
Two positions are currently open: Wednesday & Thursday 4pm -12pm (16 hours) and Saturday & Sunday 4pm - 12pm (16 hours).
Applicants must have a minimum of 2 years of experience working in the human service field, work well independently and as a member of a team, have good computer skills and strong communication skills. A clean driving record and ability to pass background checks is required. Experience working in a residential setting and working with victims of trauma preferred. Applicant must have flexibility in their schedule to work weekends and holidays shifts when needed to provide coverage.
