Job Title: Human Resource Manager
Reports to: Operations Director
Interfaces with: Entire Business
Status: Full Time, Exempt
Salary: $95,000-$105,000

About Us: Hopeful Journeys is a private, 766 Massachusetts Approved Special Education school designed to meet the academic, social and behavioral needs of children ages 3 to 22. Hopeful Journeys is a full year, 216 day program, which provides 1:1 instructional teaching for children with autism and other developmental disorders.
The Human Resource Manager will join our team and assist in overseeing the daily operations and strategic planning of our organization. HR Manager responsibilities include, keeping staff engaged, motivated, involved as well as ensuring high quality performance.
Overall Responsibilities:
- Managing HJEC Organizational KPI data, outcomes, and trends on operational and administrative areas including staff retention, logistics and clinical and educational quality.
- Assist in monitoring internal staffing schedules.
- Assist in enforcing and modeling adherence to policies and procedures, identifying potential risks and addressing them accordingly.
- Coordinating with staff/schools and/or parents concerning transportation needs, services, times, and policies, and answering any related questions.
- Collaborating with the HJEC directors and managers to set and implement operational strategies.
- Making regular visits to classrooms to ensure alignment and maintenance of expectations, accountability, and best practices within school administration, facilities, and operations.
- Motivate employees to be an active and positive member of the HJEC community.
- Implementing health precautions and safety processes and standards to protect students and staff and ensuring compliance.
- Ensuring compliance of requirements and standards of DESE and OSD.
- Facilitating and leading meetings to ensure a high level of collaboration between all departments.
- Facilitating meetings with operations staff to discuss operations compliance, related updates, and training opportunities.
- Providing input for new policies and procedures.
- Support and facilitate Professional Development content during PD year.
- Hiring, training, motivating and coaching employees.
- Assessing employee performance and providing helpful feedback and training opportunities.
- Assessing relevant training needs for individuals and the organization, in consultation with departmental leads, including assessment methods and measurement systems.
- Design, plan and deliver training courses personally where necessary to compliment what is provided eternally or internally.
- Resolving conflicts or complaints from employees.
- Analyzing information and processes and developing more effective or efficient processes and strategies.
- Advocate for the decisions and policies and procedures of HJEC.
- Establishing and achieving business objectives.
- Oversee the maintenance of a clean, tidy school environment.
- Generating reports and presenting information to upper-level managers or other parties.
- Ensure company mission and values are represented in all day to day operations.
- Ensure streamlined and effective collaboration between Departments.
- Track and Manage staff PTO/Sick Time
- Assists in management of Staff goals and performance evals
- Aware of where every employee stands in the department in terms of performance, identifies and coordinates training need across all areas (professionalism, clinically, etc)
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Management, Hospitality Management, medical/hospital management or related field (Master’s Degree MS, MBA preferred).
- 5 or more years of experience leading.
