We’re seeking a dedicated Family Advocate to join our team. If you’re passionate about supporting children and families, connecting them with resources, and advocating for their needs, this is the opportunity for you!
As a Family Advocate, you'll coordinate vital services for children and families in alignment with the Head Start Program Performance Standards. This includes working in areas such as health, nutrition, parent involvement, and social services. You'll empower families through advocacy, goal-setting, and crisis support, while collaborating with a dynamic team to ensure community impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead outreach and enrollment efforts, welcoming families to our program
- Partner with families to develop personalized action plans with achievable goals
- Support children’s well-being through health and developmental screenings
- Provide advocacy and crisis support, empowering families to thrive
- Maintain detailed records and use data to improve outcomes
- Actively participate in professional development, community events, and initiatives
Qualifications:
- Family Development Credential (FDC) or ability to obtain within 18 months of hire, or a degree in Social Work, Human Services, Family Services, Counseling, or related field
- 2 years of experience working in Human Services or Early Childhood Development fields
- Proficient computer skills, including data based systems, and access to email and internet
- Knowledge of low-income communities and their unique challenges
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently or collaboratively
