Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the clinical operations of the nursing department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to all residents.
Develop and implement nursing policies and procedures in line with current regulations, best practices, and facility standards.
Lead, manage, and mentor a team of registered nurses (RNs), licensed practical nurses (LPNs), certified nursing assistants (CNAs), and other nursing staff, providing guidance, training, and support.
Ensure staffing levels are adequate and appropriately aligned with resident care needs, and manage scheduling of nursing staff.
Conduct regular nursing assessments to evaluate residents’ physical and mental health, and ensure the development and implementation of individualized care plans.
Monitor and evaluate the quality of care provided by nursing staff, conducting performance reviews and addressing any performance concerns as necessary.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including infection control, documentation, and resident care standards.
Serve as a liaison between nursing staff, residents, families, and the healthcare team, addressing any concerns and promoting effective communication.
Oversee and ensure proper medication management and administration processes.
Manage and maintain nursing supplies and equipment, ensuring appropriate inventory levels and equipment functionality.
Lead the coordination of resident care with other healthcare providers, ensuring comprehensive and continuous care.
Participate in quality assurance and improvement programs, tracking outcomes and implementing corrective actions as needed.
Assist in the development and management of the nursing department’s budget, ensuring cost-effective and efficient operations.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices, industry trends, and changes in regulations that may impact resident care and nursing operations.
Qualifications:
Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid license to practice in the state of Ohio.
Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role (preferably in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting).
Strong knowledge of nursing practices, healthcare regulations, and patient care standards.
Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate, develop, and retain nursing staff.
Excellent clinical assessment skills and the ability to create and implement individualized care plans.
Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with residents, families, staff, and physicians.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team.
