Driver/Transporter
The Driver for PACE will be responsible for providing safe and timely transportation of participants to and from their homes, outside medical appointments, the day center and clinic. This position will also be responsible for the general oversight of the PACE vehicles which include pre and post day inspections, fueling, and cleaning.
What is PACE?
PACE or Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly is a federal and state funded program that provides comprehensive, coordinated, and proactive whole-person care to help maintain and improve seniors' health so they can live safely in their homes. There are 180 PACE programs, serving more than 80,700 participants in 33 states.
The number of people aged 55 is increasing in Grand Junction, CO and the demand for eldercare professionals is on the rise.
What You Bring:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Safe Driving Record which must be maintained throughout employment.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Must meet and maintain eligibility under the HopeWest driving requirement policy and motor vehicle insurance.
- Experience as a driver preferred.
- Current or obtains Passenger Service and Safety (PASS) Driver Certification, maintains throughout employment
- Adequate computer skills, experience with Microsoft office products.
- Current CPR certification is maintained throughout employment.
- Effectively and respectfully communicate both verbally and in writing in a multitude of situations and settings, including highly emotional interactions.
- Effectively work with and build relationships with others.
- Ability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather, emergencies, etc.).
- Demonstrates excellent body mechanics when handling participants, DME, and equipment.
- Working knowledge of multiple types of assistive devices used by participants.

- Competitive pay structure starting at $19.00-$19.50 per hour, depending on experience and education. Differential pay for weekend shifts.
